Joanna Asher, RYT
Joanna Asher graduated from the 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training program at Little Yoga House in 2010. Guided by her beloved teacher, Patricia Morris, she teaches Vinyasa yoga classes strongly influenced by the Ashtanga yoga tradition. She completed an Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Intensive with Richard Freeman in 2011, providing her with a deeper understanding of the intricacies and meditative aspects of the Ashtanga-Vinyasa system. Joanna encourages her students to check their egos and expectations at the door and come to the mat with an open heart and an open mind. Her experience as a certified Pilates teacher since 2008 has provided Joanna with a thorough understanding of anatomy and alignment. She incorporates this knowledge into every class, safely guiding her students through an energetic, spiritual practice designed to bring balance to the mind, body, and spirit. By turning inward and quieting the thoughts of the mind through the practice of yoga asana and meditation, we are better able to access this steadiness off the mat and live more peaceful and fulfilling lives. Joanna is forever grateful for the strength, balance, peace of mind, and pure joy that yoga has introduced into her life and is dedicated to introducing these physical and emotional benefits to her students. She hopes to inspire happiness, promote confidence, and help her students realize the infinite possibilities available to them. "...none but ourselves can free our minds." - Bob Marley
